On a serious note, I have been very fortunate to get to know Jonathan on a friendship and spiritual level before we began dating so I have less doubts of it working out. I saw his heart, character, and motives before there was ever any thought towards that direction. He’s the first man I can honestly say that I fully respect everything he says and does. Even more exciting, I see growing in him the character of God.
The current relationship is a far cry from the "wham-bamm-thank-you-ma’am married after 6 weeks of knowing each other" that my ex and I did. Let me just say, it’s sad and all, but love is not enough to make up for all the crap that couples sling at one another in a marriage. There definitely has to be something deeper, something that is bigger than two people.
A book that has really helped us as we grow in our relationship is "Love & Respect". I've enclosed a video that I think encapsulates what the book is all about.
