Society

The sick and sad truth about the society we live in today is…

All anyone ever cares about is their own feeling of importance.

We all run around doing and saying things that; when boiled down, may as well be you and I running around waving our arms and screaming “LOVE ME! LOVE ME!”

The big question I keep seeing on every-one's mind is …

How am I better than you? And by how much? Even, am I more spiritually developed than the next guy? Are my prayers more eloquent? Do I know more specific texts to reference? Am I more clever? Attractive? A more articulate speaker? More creative? Intelligent? More desired by the opposite sex? Do I have a higher degree? Better grades? Make more money? etc……. do I really need to keep going or do you get the picture? I am a little pissed off by the world right now!

We’re all so pathetically possessed with comparing ourselves with each other! How do we ever expect to break out of the status quo that way? Oh, you may say, “I don’t care what anyone else thinks about me!” Really? What kind of car do you drive, where do you buy your clothes and are they name brand? How do you live your life? Or better yet, where do you spend your money and/or time? That is where your heart is!

I may lose some friends over this one, but be honest with yourselves! I am not ranting about anyone specifically, but more just society in general! I am sick to death of hearing people brag. Don’t get me wrong, I love you and I am happy for progress and positive things in your life. But the bragging, “I’m somehow better than everyone else” attitude! Let’s get past the “hi …how are you … I’m fine….” Crap! What are you doing in your life? Has a blog become the only place you can somewhat safely be honest? Has friendship become such a stress-filled concept that you isolate from the world and then wonder where all your support has gone. I am so sick of the “It’s all about ME” mentality!

I am humbled this week because I realize that showing love for others is showing love for God. If you don’t see God’s love in something I do or say, please tell me!

The awesome thing that gives me hope is that...
God meets each of us wherever we are, but he doesn't just leave us there. He is infinitely more loving and patient than any of us can hope to be in this life.
